Tertiary education contributes to poverty reduction and boosts shared prosperity. It allow graduates to foster innovation and growth, and possess the skills to compete in the marketplace, earn higher wages and have better resilience to cope with economic shocks. Besides that, graduates of tertiary education tend to also have higher civic participation and actively contribute to their communities.

In China, “unattended children” are children whose parents are absent or unable to care for them, making them de facto orphans. World Vision China’s Tertiary Education Sponsorship Program aims to support these children in Shicheng County, Jiangxi Province complete their tertiary education, so that they can break out from the struggles of poverty and have a brighter and promising future.
