WORLD VISION IN CHINA
World Vision began its work in China in 1982, responding to severe floods in Qinghai. Since then, with the support of the central and local governments, we have expanded our efforts to serve children and communities in need across the country.
In 1993, we established the World Vision China office to strengthen our commitment to long-term community development and humanitarian work.
Our Mission
We are committed to improving the well-being of vulnerable children by addressing the challenges they face and supporting their communities. Through sustainable development, advocacy, and emergency response, we strive to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Where We Work
Today, World Vision China operates in eight provincial-level regions, with a dedicated team of over 80 staff members. We work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, businesses, academic institutions, donors, and volunteers to implement child-focused, community-based programs that bring lasting, meaningful change.

OUR PROGRAMS
CHILD PROTECTION & DEVELOPMENT
We work to create positive and supportive relationships among children, their families, and communities, with a focus on protection children from violence.
EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT
We support young children receive the care and learning opportunities they need to thrive.
DISABILITY INCLUSION
We focus on improving the accessibility and effectiveness of services for children with disabilities in underdeveloped areas.
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE (WASH)
We promote handwashing, enhance water management and access to sanitation facilities to reduce preventable diseases and improve children’s health.
HUMANITARIAN EMERGENCY AFFAIRS & CLIMATE RESILIENCE
We respond to the needs of people affected by disasters and strengthen the disaster preparedness and recovery capacity of children and communities.
